With the number one contender spot in the UFC Welterweight division still up for grabs, Tyrone Woodley, who most recently defeated Carlos Condit, took to the MMA Hour to make his case for the next title shot. While he acknowledges that other fighters in the division all have at least a somewhat valid claim to a title shot, he had strong words regarding the idea that Nick Diaz might receive the next crack at Johny Hendricks.
“Everybody that’s coming out of the woodwork and guys that retired that are coming out – Diaz on the sidelines – if you wanted the title shot, brother, why didn’t you get in the cage with Carlos Condit when you had the chance? You shouldn’t have been sitting ringside. You should’ve been in there. You had the opportunity before me.”
