TUF: Nations Cast Announced – Show To Feature Welterweights, Middleweights

December 4, 2013 9:40 am by Jim Chadwick

In an apparent plan for global domination that would leave Pinky and The Brain fuming with jealousy, The UFC is set to unleash yet another iteration of its reality tv show, “The Ultimate Fighter”, on the general public.

As reported by MMASun, we will see welterweights and middleweights featured on the show, with Canada taking on Australia. Kyle Noke will be coaching Team Australia, and the hard-hitting Patrick Cote will lead Team Canada. “Nations” is set to debut January 15th on Fox Sports 1  (TUF China will also be debuting soon, as well as the highly-anticipated TUF: Brazil, featuring Wanderlei Silva vs. Chael Sonnen).

So far, the teams are shaping up as such:

•Olivier Aubin-Mercier (4-0)
•Luke Harris (10-2 1 NC)
•Kajan Johnson (19-10)
•Chad Laprise (7-0)
•Nordine Taleb (8-2)
•Elias Theodorou (8-0)
•Sheldon Westcott (8-1-1)

•Priscus Fogagnolo (7-1)
•Vik Grujic (6-2)
•Daniel Kelly (5-0)
•Tyler Manawaroa (10-0)
•Jake Matthews (3-0)
•Brendan O’Reilly (5-0)
•Zein Saliba (4-0)
•Richard Walsh (7-1)

There are a few standouts on the cast; Georges St-Pierre’s Tristar gym will be represented, and we’re also going to see some regulars from Bellator make their UFC debut. All-in-all it should be an entertaining season, however you have to wonder if other weight divisions might have benefitted more from the influx of talent that the show can bring.
