Julianna Pena has been forced out of her bout against Jessica Andrade after suffering a knee injury.

Steven Marrocco of MMAJunkie is reporting that the injury was a ‘very severe knee injury’. Julianna Pena suffered the injury close to two days ago and she is on her way to Los Angeles, California to undergo surgery.

Season eighteen of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ was the first of its kind to feature female mixed martial artists fighting for a UFC contract. Impressive since her fight to get in the house, Julianna Pena emerged victorious in the women’s bantamweight bracket. In the finals, Pena defeated Jessica Rakoczy by way of technical knockout with only one-second remaining in the first round.

After turning her career around, this could be a huge set-back for Pena. We here at BJPENN.COM would like to wish Julianna Pena a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
