Tony Ferguson vs. Michael Johnson set for pivotal lightweight clash

UFC 197 has picked up another highly anticipated lightweight matchup in addition to the lightweight main event showdown between Rafael dos Anjos vs. Conor McGregor.

The UFC announced Thursday evening that Tony Ferguson and Michael Johnson would square off at the event in what will likely be a pivotal lightweight showdown.

Ferguson sits at #5 on the UFC’s official rankings and is riding a 7-fight win streak that could see him earn a title shot with a win over Johnson. On the other hand Johnson is riding a two-fight losing streak that most recently saw him drop a decision loss to Nate Diaz.

It’s important to mention that Ferguson’s last loss came in 2012 to Johnson via decision. Since then he has gone undefeated over the last few years.

How do you see this one playing out?
