Tito Ortiz gave his two cents about Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) in a recent interview to www.fightersonlymag.com, stating that “If I have to do that kind of stuff, I’m done with the sport, I wont compete anymore because I want to be a natural athlete.”

There has been a lot of controversy lately about TRT, with Alistair Overeem failing his random drug test, which has jeopardized his bout with UFC heavy weight champion Junior Dos Santos at UFC 146 on May 26th in Las Vegas. Overeem claim’s that his elevated testosterone levels came from TRT, and will go before the Nevada State Athletic Commission April 24th to appeal his case.

Tito Ortiz believes that if you have to undergo TRT then MMA is not the sport for you, “My recommendation is don’t do it. If its against the law or against the sport, don’t do it and if you do have to do it, don’t fight anymore.”

Ortiz has served a 15 year long career in MMA and has not failed a single drug test. Tito is now at the end of his climatic MMA career, with one fight left in him he looks to defeat his rival opponent Forrest Griffin for a second time. Ortiz at one time held the UFC light heavyweight title from April 14, 2000 to September 26th, 2003, among being a long time title holder he has had epic match ups with the likes of Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture, he was the biggest PPV draw in 2006, and now looks to leave the sport on his own terms, finishing his career with a rubber match versus Griffin who is also a former champion.

Ortiz got the better of Griffin in their first fight back at UFC 59 in April of 2006, taking the fight by split decision; but the result came with controversy that led to a second meeting in November of 2009 at UFC 106, where Griffin won the fight also via split decision. The two fighters now look to settle the score and squash the rivalry for good, they will face each other one last time on July 7th, at UFC 148.Stay tuned into BJPENN.com for upcoming information on the fate of Alistair Overeem and the final showdown between Griffin and Ortiz.
