There May Be Charges Against Leben, But Domestic Violence Is Not One Of Them

Domestic violence in mixed martial arts has become a hot-button topic since HBO’s “Real Sports” did a feature on the issue. While some athletes, men and women, from different sports backgrounds do have a past with domestic violence, former UFC fighter Chris Leben is NOT part of that group.

The “Ultimate Fighter” alumni was arrested in July for various reasons. Several days after his arrest, Leben took to social media to clarify that there was “absolutely no domestic violence of any sort between my wife” and himself.

The retired middleweight has since reached out to BJPENN.COM to clarify that not only was there no violent encounter between he and his wife, but that there was no charge for domestic violence at all.

In the initial police report, a charge ‘Vio Ord: Prevnt Domes Viol’ is in reference to a “violation” of sorts, and not an actual charge of violence.

Sure, Leben may have some legal issues ahead, but halt the wife beater label, because a wife beater he is not.

Stay tuned to BJPENN.COM for continued updates on Leben’s battle ahead.
