The UFC will debut the Chinese version of its hit, reality television show, “The Ultimate Fighter” this November.  TUF: China is the first step in a new broadcast deal that promises UFC events to air regularly in Asia.

UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia, Mark Fischer, detailed the organization’s deal with Sands China, a major resort company in Asia, and Liaoning Radio Television.

“We are very excited to announce these new partnerships with Sands China and Liaoning Radio Television.  With Sands China’s support, we will bring regular events to the region, as well as the Chinese edition of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’”

The UFC and Liaoning Radio Television will be co-producing TUF: China.  The reality television show will air on Liaoning Satellite TV which, according to the company, reaches more than 830 million viewers.  The live finale is set to take place in March 2014 at the Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena.

“This is an unprecedented initiative for any global sports league in China.  With national distribution through Liaoning Satellite TV, we will not only develop the next generation of UFC fighters from China, but also introduce the UFC to millions of new fans across the region.”

Any fighters interested in trying out for the show may find information and an application at sports.sohu.com/tuf2013.  Interested applicants must be male, between the ages of 18-34, have professional MMA experience, fight in featherweight, lightweight and welterweight division, speak Mandarin and be of Chinese descent.

Tryouts will be held in Beijing on July 21 at the Lido Hotel and on July 25 in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands.  No coaches have been announced for the show, but Cung Le has been rumored as one of the UFC’s targets for the position.
