The UFC is Headed Back to Indy on August 28th

For the first time in nearly three years the UFC is finally headed back to Indianapolis, Indiana. It was announced by the company over the weekend that The Hoosier State would be hosting the first of a series of Wednesday night fight specials on FOX’s newly formed station, FOX Sports 1, at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse (pictured above) in downtown Indianapolis.

The August 28th show will be the organizations second trip to Indianapolis, with the first coming way back in 2010 at UFC 119 when Frank Mir knocked out Mirko Cro Cop in the main event.

The UFC is currently planning on hosting live shows once or twice a month on Wednesdays with the occasional Saturday special once the FOX Sports 1 channel premiers. The Indianapolis event is scheduled to be the kickoff for these Wednesday night fights and FOX Sports 1 will likely take the front seat in UFC programming while FX and FUEL slowly step out of the UFC picture.

There have been no fights announced for this card thus far but the UFC has announced that tickets for the event will go on sale to the public on June 14th.

Any ideas for a juicy main event, fight fans? Let’s hear some suggestions and feedback.
