The UFC announced on Monday night that Te Huna will fill in for an injured Ryan Bader (knee) at UFC 160 where he will take on Glover Teixeira in a light heavyweight bout.
Te Huna (16-5) has won four-straight, with his most recent coming over Ryan Jimmo last month on UFC on FUEL TV 7. Before that, there was a “Fight of the Night” victory over Joey Beltran. Te Huna has lost only once in his last 10 trips to the cage. That defeat came at the hands of light heavyweight title contender Alexander Gustafsson by submission.
Teixeira(20-2) entered the UFC with much fanfare and has failed to disappoint. He is unbeaten in his three UFC appearances, with two finishes. Most recently, he earned a decision victory over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Teixeira is on one of the longest win streaks in MMA, having won 18 straight.
The May 25 event takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.
The night’s action is headlined by a heavyweight title match pitting Cain Velasquez against challenger Antonio Silva. Mark Hunt, faces Junior dos Santos in the co-main event.
