Paulo Thiago Forced Out Of Gastelum Fight With Injury

Brazilian special forces super cop, Paulo Thiago, has been forced out of his August bout against TUF winner Kelvin Gastelum with an injury to his knee.

The two were originally paired off for ‘UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann’ which is set to go down from the Indianapolis’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse on August. 28 live and free on FOX Sports 1.

With news of this injury, reports are indicating that Gastelum will remain on the card and a search for a new opponent is currently underway.

Gastelum is the TUF 17 champion who shocked the world with his finale victory over show favorite Urijah Hall. He is an undefeated prospect who will be making his debut as a welterweight for the UFC in this upcoming bout.

A date for Thiago’s return is currently unknown.
