Michael Bisping eyeing fight with Chris Weidman

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is fresh off his UFC 204 unanimous decision win over Dan Henderson earlier this month, and already has his sights set on another potential top contender.

Following Bisping’s win over Henderson, he used his post-fight Octagon interview to take shots the top of the middleweight division, saying:

Michael Bisping

“Forgive my language…all you f**k heads in the rest of the division. Weidman, what the hell? You lost your last fight! I’ve got three victories since you got your ass kicked by Luke Rockhold. Rockhold, I knocked you out in three minutes buddy. Yoel Romero, you were suspended for steroids, shame on you! And Jacare, you just got beat by Yoel! All of you, win a fight, get off the couch, and let’s fucking do this!”

With that being said, all of the men Bisping mentioned above are currently set for fights that could very well determine who the middleweight #1 contender is. Luke Rockhold and Jacare Souza are matched up for a November matchup, while Chris Weidman and Yoel Romero are matched up for a UFC 205 fight in November as well.

Ahead of Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero, which is set to be Weidman’s first fight back in the Octagon following his UFC 194 loss to Luke Rockhold, Bisping has his sights set on ‘The All American’.

He spoke on The MMA Hour:

“Obviously, it’s got to be one of the big contenders next,” said Bisping, as transcribed by Adam Guillen Jr for MMA Mania. “Let’s see how the chips fall, but I think I want Weidman to be honest. If he can get past Romero, that would be a fight that interests me. It seems that me and Weidman have this rivalry now. I’ve got nothing against Weidman, he likes to talk s*** about my career and I do the same on his. But, I wish him all the best.

“Competition aside, he seems like a good guy and a good dude. But, we’ve been talking a lot and we’ve got to settle it inside the Octagon. If he gets past Yoel Romero, which he’s got his hands full there. But if he does, I would happily fight him. I think it’s a good match up in late February or March, something like that.
