“Mayweather vs. Maidana 2” Results: Mayweather Coasts to Victory Against Maidana

By bjpenndotcom - September 13, 2014

Floyd Mayweather proved to Marcos Maidana that his first victory in May 2014 was no fluke. Mayweather’s strategy was as good as ever and he outboxed his opponent on his way to a decision victory, retaining a handful of titles in the process tonight in MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada.

In their first bout, Mayweather fell victim to Maidana’s strategy where he got pinned against the ropes and took unnecessary punishment which led to a questionable decision. Maidana was confident he could beat Mayweather tonight in a rematch, but Mayweather’s camp was just too good and he adapted with a winning gameplan. Mayweather prepared for the fight as only he could, but no amount of training could prepare him for the odd occurrence in the eighth round.

While in a clinch, Mayweather let out a scream of pain. He stated that Maidana bit him so hard in the glove portion that his hand became numb and was essentially useless throughout the remainder of the fight. If the claim was true, Mayweather boxed the rest of the fight with only one functioning hand.

What’s next for Floyd Mayweather? Is retirement in his future? Is there an up and coming contender you think he should face? Let us know in the comment section below!
