Chael Sonnen had moved on from MMA and was set to face Andre Galvao at Metamoris 4 this Saturday, all seemed right with the world (sort of). That is until the NSAC decided to step in and try to block Sonnen from competing at the event, saying Metamoris fell under his MMA suspension, and threatened to fine him $250,000 per failed drug test should he compete.
Now reports are surfacing that Sonnen had asked his close friend Randy Couture to fill in for him should worst come to worst and the NSAC block went through.
The report came from Sherdog.com:
“Due to previous obligations, which include an “Expendables 3” press junket on Saturday and Sunday and the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Monday — as well a “Gym Rescue” premiere on Sunday — Couture simply could not clear his schedule enough to compete at Metamoris in place of Sonnen.”
