‘So what if Gus ALMOST beat Jon Jones? He got KOd by Johnson!’

Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson will finally be meeting in the center of the octagon at “UFC 192” on October 3rd to decide the fate of the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. There was a lot of controversy surrounding this fight when it was first announced as Gustafsson is coming fresh off a loss to Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, the man Cormier dominated in order to capture the gold in the first place.

It could have been argued that Ryan Bader deserved the shot, but that wasn’t the path UFC brass wanted to take the fight in. Other than Johnson, both men have squared off win former UFC champion Jon Jones and fans were quick to point out “The Mauler” performed better against “Bones” than Cormier did. This, of course, rubbed Cormier the wrong way and he went on a bit of a rant on social media:

This is what i am talking about, the extremes people will go to to prove a point. They wanna say Alex is better so they tag me to prove it they show our fights against jones. And yes he fought Jon better but Jon isn’t our only common opponent. I mean come on guys, we both fought someone else, I don’t think it’s too hard to figure. And for people qho think he’s better u get to find out next week. Anyone know who else Alexander and I have both fought? I know the answer but if u include that in ur argument I guess Alex doesn’t look like a diamond right.
