‘Shogun’ Will Wait Before Deciding Next Career Move

By BJPENN.COM News - December 7, 2013

Prior to last night’s UFC Fight Night 33 event, many people, including UFC President Dana White had chalked off ‘Shogun’ as a competitive light-heavyweight fighter.

The UFC boss was quoted in saying he would like to see ‘Shogun’ drop weight classes or retire, but after his first round KO over James Te Huna the UFC boss quickly backed off those talks.

During the evenings post-fight presser, the man himself discussed his thoughts going forward:

“Actually right now, I’d like to take a little break. But if the UFC wants me to fight again, I’ll fight again. I had three fight camps in a row, I had the fight with Little Nog but it didn’t happen, then Sonnen, then this one. So I’d like to take a little break, and I really don’t have anyone in mind right now. I won’t rule anything out. Right now, I just want to celebrate my win.”
