Sexual Harassment Case Stopping MMA in NY?

By BJPENN.COM News - June 9, 2014

MMA has been fighting to get a foot hold in New York for some time now. It now appears that New York politician Sheldon Silver has been holding out on allowing a bill that would legalize MMA in New York to move ahead to a vote. nypost.com first made the connection between Silver’s shady dealing in the past and his not allowing Pro MMA to go to a bill.

Silver is possibly rejecting allowing the bill to go to a vote because he know it would pass, and because some years ago he used public money to settle a sexual harassment case, and once the shady move came to light, Silver wanted to please the people, specifically females who strongly oppose MMA.

While Professional MMA is illegal in New York, Amateur MMA is LEGAL. This means that New York is losing out on an estimated $135 million dollars in revenue.

What do you think PENNation? Should Sheldon Silver let the bill for Professional MMA go to a vote? Sound off in the comments section.
