Sarah Kaufman off UFC Fight Night 27 card

By Chris Taylor - August 19, 2013

After losing her scheduled UFC Fight Night 27 opponent Sara McMann (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) earlier this month and without a suitbale replacement available, Sarah Kaufman (16-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been scratched from next week’s ‘UFN 27’ lineup.

Kaufman’s most recent effort came while under the Invicta FC banner, where she earned a split-decision win over Leslie Smith. Prior to the Smith bout, Kaufman was submitted by Ronda Rousey in a fight for the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title.

Meanwhile, McMann defeated Sheila Gaff in her promotional debut at UFC 159 in April. Being an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling, Sara is expected to do big things in the UFC’s women’s division.

UFC Fight Night 27 takes place August 28 live from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. McMann vs. Kaufman was originally slated for the event’s FOX Sports 1-televised main card, so a bout from the prelims is likely to be bumped up to take it’s place.

McMann vs. Kaufman will be rescheduled for a later event.
