It was announced by the Canadian Press yesterday that Canadian lightweights Sam Stout (19-7-1 MMA, 7-6 UFC) and John Makdessi (9-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) will be facing off at UFC 154 in Montreal.
Stout returns to the octagon after winning his trilogy bout with Spencer Fisher at UFC on FX 4. Sam “Hands of stone” Stout won the rubber match via unanimous decision. Sam has now won 3 of his past 4 fights, his lone loss coming at the hands of Thiago Tavares at UFC 142 in Brazil.
Makdessi has dropped his past two fights, suffering losses to Dennis Hallman and Anthony Njokuani, respectively. This after Makdessi had burst onto the UFC scene with a spinning back fist KO of Kyle Watson.
This fight should equal fireworks, as both men are known to stand and bang!
UFC 154 takes place Nov. 17 at Bell Centre in Montreal. The event’s main card airs on pay-per-view following the prelims on FX and Facebook. The main event of the evening features a welterweight championship unification bout between George St. Pierre and Carlos Condit.
