Salary Report: King Mo’s $10k, Huge Pay Discrepancies Highlight Why UFC Best Place For Fighters

We rarely get to put the Bellator promotion’s fighter compensation under the microscope.

Typically, the promotion contests events on Indian reservations where disclosing payroll is not required.

Last Saturday, that was not the case.

While some fighters took home a decent check, the discrepancy in pay, is vast and off-putting.

It may not have been pretty or all that thrilling, but Saturday’s win was certainly bountiful for Joe Riggs at Saturday’s Bellator 106.

Riggs defeated Mike Bronzoulis by unanimous decision in the “Fight Master” finale and in doing so netted a fat $95,000 win bonus. Both fighters earned $5,000 to show.

But the big winner of the night, both in the cage and in terms of dollars, was Eddie Alvarez. Alvarez defeated Michael Chandler by split decision to regain the Bellator lightweight title and earned the top overall payday with $160,000.

BJPENN.COM obtained the list of disclosed paydays for the event, which aired on Spike TV from Long Beach Arena in California. The final disclosed payroll for the card was $551,500.
