Sage Northcutt won’t have training camp for UFC debut

By BJPENN.COM News - September 13, 2015

One of UFC’s newest signees is ready to take the octagon by storm.

Earlier this month, one of Sage Northcutt’s recent performances at Legacy Fighting Championship went viral where he displayed his dominance over Gage Duhon. After picking up another victory over Rocky Long at Legacy FC 44, Northcutt is making the transition to the big show!

Northcutt will be making his company debut in his home state of Texas when he squares off with Francisco Trevino at UFC 192. Northcutt is hoping to catch the fans of the UFC off guard with his positive attitude.

“I like to smile and I’m happy and bubbly, so I’m not your typical MMA fighter – being all tattooed up and serious,” Northcutt told UFC. “I think that’s something different.”

Just nineteen years old, Northcutt spent most of his time admiring the wrestling skills of the elite in the octagon. “I love [GSP’s] wrestling and the way he uses it in MMA and controls everybody,” Northcutt admitted. “Most people don’t think I’m a wrestler because they only see my stand up.” Northcutt is a sport-karate champion and has already captivated the attention of thousands when his video went viral earlier this month.

While he hopes to catch people off guard with his positive attitude, Northcutt will surely confuse some onlookers when he walks into the octagon without a single day in a training camp. “I’ve never actually had a training camp, believe it or not,” Northcutt stated. While he will train for the fight, he will forego the traditional training camp.
