| This fight was a battle! Both men have heavy power and it showed early in the fight, as the y both rocked each other in the opening rounds, but the latter portions of the fight slowed and Jimmo took complete control of the bout with his wrestling and athleticism.
The first round was kind of awkward for most of the round as the men would throw strikes, clinch, and press each other against the cage. Then the referee would step in and split the two fighters, and it would replay the same way. Finally, though, the two started scrapping in the final seconds of the round and Pokrajac landed a heavy hook that stunned Jimmo and Jimmo answered with a comb of his own. It was a tough round to score but I think Jimmo took the round and the momentum heading into round two.
Jimmo rocked Igor with a right hand at the beginning of the second round and, although Pokrajac recovered and came back up, Jimmor tripped him and took him back down, where he landed many strikes from the top and pretty much controlled the entirety of the second frame of the fight. Pokrajac did land some strikes from his back throughout the round but nothing significant enough to score him more points than JImmo, which means Jimmo was heading into round three leading 2 rounds to none.
Igor came out looking like he had to finish the fight, stepping up his tempo, and in looking for a nice little throw he was reversed and ended up on the bottom with Jimmo in his guard once again. Jimmo continued landing nice shots over the top and the fight ended with Jimmo pressing Pokrajac against the cage with complete control. He stated after the fight, “I just had to get my name in the W column.” Mission accoplished.
Ryan Jimmo wins via unanimous decision victory.
