The ongoing tit for tat between Ronda Rousey and Cris “Cyborg” Santos continued Tuesday during the UFC 157 conference call.
When prodded by the media about her thoughts on Santos asking to get cut loose from her UFC contract, Rousey , the UFC 135-pound champ, hurled this salvo:
“I think she’s just kind of making a lot of noise and trying to get attention because she’s kind of fading into being irrelevant,” Rousey said “She hasn’t had a recorded win in I think two years or something like that, so she needs people going on TV and making a big fuss so people will even remember her name.”
Rousey and Santos have been volleying barbs back and forth ever since Rousey won the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship in 2012.
A press conference is expected for Friday with Santos and her manager Tito Ortiz to discuss her fighting future.
Rousey and Liz Carmouche will make history at UFC 157 when they take part in the first female fight to be held in the UFC.
“I’m not spending any of my time worrying about her because Liz Carmouche is 100-percent of my attention right now,” Rousey said. “Cyborg’s not really worth my time at the moment.”
