Ronda Rousey Makes Top Charitable Athletes List — Here’s Why!

Ronda Rousey has landed on another major list full of sports biggest stars, this time for her charitable efforts.

Rousey landed the 14th spot on the Athletes Gone Good 2015 list. According to the site, Rousey was recognized for her work with the UFC 184 Free Rice contest, which supported the World Food Programme, as well as her ongoing work with the Gompers Judo Program.

Who topped the list? Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo came in first, WWE’s John Cena in second and tennis’ Serena Williams came in third.

This World / Olympic medalist in judo knows how to make an impact. Ronda is a mental health advocate, has participated in the the UFC 184 Free Rice contest to support the World Food Programme, and enriches the the lives of students through sport with the Gompers Judo Program.

The list named the top 20 athletes. It is fascinating to see an MMA fighter make it onto a lot of these mainstream lists, but it will be even more interesting to watch as the years to see if Rousey can climb a lot of these lists or if any other MMA fighters can break into major popularity like she has.
