Earlier this week on WWE’s ‘Monday Night Raw’ it was revealed that former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey had been awarded the WWE Slammy award for ‘This is Awesome moment of the Year’.
The moment which earned Rousey the award was her appearance at WrestleMania 31 alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson which saw her hip toss WWE exec Stephanie McMahon, and assist Dwayne Johnson in taking out Triple H, all while sporting a Dragon Ball Z shirt.
The appearance at WrestleMania certainly sparked talks of Rousey potentially making the transition to pro wrestling. Several months after the appearance Rousey revealed that she wants to win a championship in multiple things, including the WWE Diva’s championship.
In the immediate future however, Rousey will look to recover from her UFC 193 KO loss to Holly Holm, and chase the championship that once was hers.
While the UFC would like to see the rematch go down at UFC 200, there’s been no word yet on whether or not Rousey will be medically cleared to fight on the event.
