The last few months may have seen UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey lose her title as everyone’s favorite female fighter; but she has certainly not lost that title in the betting word.
5thRound posted the betting lines for Rousey’s upcoming UFC 168 title defense against Miesha Tate, and the numbers point to most gamblers anticipating the champion will retain her belt.
The wagering lines are:
Underdog (+) Favorite (-)
Miesha Tate +600
Ronda Rousey -1000
Bet $100 on Tate and she’s victorious, you win $600
Bet $1,000 on Rousey and she’s victorious, you win $100
Rousey and Tate have held a rivalry since Rousey challenged Tate’s bantamweight belt in Strikeforce. Rousey would go on to defeat Tate, and the rivalry continued to the UFC when both women served as opposing coaches on the most recent season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Following TUF, many fans complained that Rousey’s behavior on the show was disrespectful and unsportsmanlike. The fans’ change could be seen when Tate defeated Rousey in a recent online competition to see who would be on the cover of the UFC’s next video game.
However, looking at the betting lines, it seems that the fans’ opinions hold no influence on the odds-makers’ intuition.
Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate are set to fight in a rematch as the co-main event of UFC 168 on December 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Headlining the card will be the highly anticipated rematch between UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and former champion Anderson Silva.Tags: miesha tate, mma, MMA NEWS, Ronda Rousey, rousey tate ii, Rousey vs. Tate II, tate vs rousey II, tate-rousey ii, ufc, UFC 168, ufc news
