As we reported just days ago, Rich Attonito was forced out of his UFC 140 bout when his original opponent, Claude Patrick, got the call to fill in on the pay-per-view portion of the December show for the injured Rory MacDonald.
The UFC promised that Attonito’s slot on the card was not in jeopardy and they delivered on the promise by booking UFC newcomer Jake Hecht as his replacement opponent.
UFC 140 takes place December 10th at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Canada and is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight featuring Jon Jones and Lyoto Machida.
As mentioned, Attonito was originally scheduled to face Claude Patrick before Patrick got called to main card action on the same night. He comes into the fight with a 10-4 professional MMA record which includes a 3-1 stint in the UFC. He was last seen in action in June’s UFC Live event in a decision victory over Daniel Roberts.
Hecht brings in a three-fight win streak to his Octagon debut. The Fiore MMA trained fighter has posted five submission victories on the regional circuit and holds a win over “TUF” season 13 veteran Charlie Rader.
