First, there was Anderson Silva. Then came Rampage Jackson. Now it appears the retired Chris Lytle is latest UFC veteran to be rumored to a boxing match with Roy Jones Jr.

According to a report on Wednesday’s new episode of “UFC Tonight,” Lytle is in negotiations to compete with Jones Jr. at 175 pounds. The bout is reportedly being considered for later this year, though no details on the potential fight date were revealed.

Jones, 45, is a former multi-division world champion and was considered as one of the sport’s finest pound-for-pound fighters. In his last outing, Jones (57-8) won the WBU Cruiserweight Championship with a unanimous decision over Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf.

Lytle, 39, announced his retirement from MMA close to three years ago. He last competed in August 2011, submitting Dan Hardy in the main event of UFC Live 5. Lytle racked up 54 career fights, starting in 1999. Lytle has a 13-1-1 record as a pro boxer but has not taken a boxing fight since June of 2005.

Do you think there is a chance of this fight actually happening? Would you watch?
