Chael Sonnen has always stuck to his anyone, anytime, anywhere attitude. Now TSN.ca is reporting through an interview with Sonnen set to air tonight on TSN’s “Off the record” that Sonnen underwent colon surgery the day before his fight with Rashad Evans at UFC 167 in November.

Off the record host Michael Landsberg questioned Sonnen about the surgery, saying he got the information from an unnamed source to which Sonnen responded:

“It’s a little bit of a surprise that you had that information. When I sign a contract to fight, I’m agreeing to fight a guy on a certain day at a certain time and in a certain venue. It’s my job to feel good when I go out and do it and if I don’t that may play a hand in the fight.”

Sonnen would not give a definitive answer as to whether or not he did for sure have surgery, nor did he hint at what kind of surgery or procedure it may have been.

We will keep you updated as to how this story unfolds. Tune in to TSN’s “Off the record” tonight at 5pm ET to see the full interview.
