Report: UFC Fight Night 42 draws excellent ratings

According to a report from MMAFighting.com‘s Dave Meltzer, this past Saturday’s “UFC Fight Night 42” event in New Mexico drew a large television audience.

The events main card, which was headlined by a lightweight bout between Benson Henderson and Rustam Khabilov, did a 0.82 rating and had 1,217,000 viewers during the 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. time slot.

In comparison, the previous weekend’s UFC Fight Night event (Miocic vs. Maldonado) did just 609,000 viewers.

The “UFC Fight Night 42” prelims, which were headlined by a bantamweight fight featuring Sergio Pettis taking on Yaotzin Meza, did a 0.61 rating and scored 812,000 viewers.  It was the second highest-rated Fight Night prelims, trailing only the 881,000 viewers for the prelims on the night the station launched, August 17, 2013.

“UFC Fight Night 42” drew the third-largest audience to ever watch an event on FOX Sports 1. The only FS1 events to draw greater numbers were “UFC Fight Night 26: Sonnen vs. Shogun” and “UFC Fight Night 36: Machida vs. Mousasi”.

Currently, live UFC Fight Nights average 817,000 viewers.
