Bellator is set to air its first Pay-Per-View event on November 2 that will feature Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson (pictured) fighting Tito Ortiz, but a report this past weekend indicates that the promotion may be struggling to get fans in attendance.

As Bellator continues promoting and preparing for its first Pay-Per-View event next month, the organization may have hit a major bump in the road: generating attendance.
The card will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA – a venue that seats over 13,000. If the report by MMAJunkie.com’s John Morgan is to be believed, Bellator is nowhere near hitting that mark.
Morgan tweeted out last Friday night that “Bellator’s PPV event has sold approximately 1,700 tickets so far, with another 2,000 on consignment.”
Bellator has not officially released any numbers, nor has the organization confirmed or denied the reports. If Morgan’s report is correct, Bellator’s attendance on November 2 will be less than 30% capacity.
The organization has done a lot to build up this card. They staged an enormous ruse that had media believing (and reporting) that Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson would be boxing Roy Jones Jr. on the card. Then at Bellator 97, Tito Ortiz came into the cage to announce that he would be fighting Rampage to headline the promotion’s first Pay-Per-View.
The card has since grown to include a number of high-draw fights, such as the rematch between Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler, the rematch between King Mo and Emanuel Newton, the finale fight of Bellator’s reality-television series Fight Master and more.
