“Last time I checked I didn’t have wrinkles,” MMA Legend Renzo Gracie said in reference to his desire to fight at 46 years of age. “Not even on my nut sack.”

It has been a back-and-forth between one of MMA’s living legends and the President of the UFC, as Renzo Gracie talked about a return to fighting and Dana White questioned it. Gracie has the most recent response, as he talked to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani earlier this week following White’s comments at a media event in Brazil.
“For having nothing to prove nor nothing to gain,” Gracie said of why he wants to fight. “To fight for what it is without reason, without greed, just for the passion to step once again in the arena and be an inspiration for a future generation of great fighters. To prove that age is only a handicap for the soft ones. And above all, because I love it.”
Despite signing a multi-fight contract with the UFC, Renzo fought just once. He lost that fight in 2010 at the hands of UFC Hall of Fame fighter, Matt Hughes. Now, Gracie is looking for a return in early 2014, and he says that he will fight outside the UFC if need be, though he did not elaborate on where that may be.
“My man, I’m fighting. It doesn’t matter where. Even for free.”
To emphasize his passion and serious drive to fight professionally again, Gracie apparently texted to Helwani a quote from Friedrich Nietzsche that he felt summarized Dana White’s confusion.
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”Tags: Dana White, mma, MMA NEWS, renzo gracie, renzo gracie return, ufc, ufc news
