Ratings Report: Henderson, Melendez viewership peaks at 4.7 million

Though the overall numbers may have been down, a solid number of viewers tuned in for the UFC on FOX 7 main event.

MMAweekly.com says viewership for the lightweight title bout between Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez peaked at 4.7 million viewers.

Roughly 3.31 million people were drawn by the card in which Henderson defeated Melendez. That was enough to grant FOX with the number one spot among total viewers and with adults from 18 to 49 years old. However, specifically regarding the aforementioned age group, the rating of 1.5 adults 18-49 earned by UFC on

FOX 7 was 17% lower than the 1.8 rating for UFC on FOX 6, headlined by the flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson.

In addition to the Henderson/Melendez title bout, UFC on FOX 7 featured fights between Frank Mir and Daniel Cormier, and Nate Diaz versus Josh Thomson

The UFC returns to Fox on July 27 with UFC on Fox 8 at KeyArena in Seattle.

UFC on Fox 2: 4.6 million viewers
UFC on Fox 3: 2.4 million viewers

UFC on Fox 7: 3.7 million viewers
