Rashad Evans: ‘I’m Going Out The Way I Want To’

By BJPENN.COM News - October 1, 2015

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans makes his return tho the octagon after nearly two years out of action.

Rashad Evans

His last fight was against Chael Sonnen back in 2013, a fight he won via TKO in the first round. He’s coming into this weekend’s fights with a two fight win steak and looks to make it three when he takes on Ryan Bader.

Evans recently talked to the media at Wednesday’s open workouts and said that he’s glad to be back and competing again and he’s also happy that he’ll be able to close out his career, whenever that is, the way he wants to.

Here’s what he said:

“For awhile, I gave up and started to get down on myself and put on a little weight. I started feeling sorry for myself, then I was like, ‘you know what, man, I can’t go out like this.’ If my story’s going to end, I’m going to go out the way I want to, I want to go out there and compete.”

Do you think Evans will be able to get past Bader this weekend and make another run at the UFC title?
