Rampage: ‘There’s a lot of haters’

It should come as no surprise that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has had his fair share of run-ins with “haters” of all kinds. But, he’s not the type to let them get him down.

‘Rampage’ recently sat with Dave Doyle of MMAFighting to discuss his upcoming bout with ‘King’ Mo Lawal at the Bellator season 10 light heavyweight tournament finals on May 17. The event is scheduled to take place in Rampage’s home town of Memphis, Tenn, and is set to air live on Pay-Per-View.

During the promotions first attempt at a PPV, Rampage was originally scheduled to fight fellow former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. However, Tito backed out of the fight after sustaining a neck injury.

According to Jackson, the bout was not the most popular fight amongst fans and loaded with “haters” talking trash.

“Seemed like a lot of people didn’t like that fight,” Rampage stated. “A lot of times you get like one percent of haters, but that fight had more than one percent, that had like 40 percent haters. People don’t understand. There’s a lot of haters, they say rude things, ‘washed up’ and ‘has beens’ and stuff like that.”

As far as Rampage is concerned he’s anything but “washed up”. And with a recent knockout victory over Christian M’Pumbu at Bellator 110, Rampage has his sights set at ‘King’ Mo to prove it even more so.

Rampage touched on the scuffle between himself and his upcoming opponent, saying, “After I knocked out Christian Oomdooboo, I was still hyped up. Anyone who I was going to fight, if he came to the cage, I would have done the same thing.”
