‘Raging’ Al Iaquinta Wants January Return, Eyes Top Ten Opponent

Al Iaquinta returns at UFC 223

UFC lightweight ‘Raging’ Al Iaquinta does not need to undergo knee surgery and now looks to return to the cage sometime in January of 2016.

Iaquinta has not fought since picking up a controversial decision win over Jorge Masvidal in April. According the UFC Tonight, Iaquinta is looking to come back all healed up and wants to fight tenth ranked lightweight Beneil Dariush.

Instead of having to undergo surgery on his knew, which has very little cartilage left, it was decided that he will undergo stem cell injections and plasma therapy. That treatment will last about six weeks.

Dariush’s team heard about Iaquinta’s wish and have also expressed interest in putting that fight together. His team has said they would also like a January return.

So, sounds like this fight is all good to go, just needs a date and a venue.
