Reigning UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has opened as the favorite in his first title defense.
Pettis will coach opposite Gilbert Melendez for “The Ultimate Fighter 20” and the two will meet at a later date.
According to bestfightodds.com, Pettis stands at -190 while Melendez is at +150.
“The Ultimate Fighter 20″ begins filming in May and will feature the launch of the promotion’s women’s strawweight division and determine its champion. It will be the first time The Ultimate Fighter features an all-female cast and it will be the first time TUF will crown a champion.
Knee injuries have kept Pettis on the sidelines since winning the title from Benson Henderson in August, 2013.
Melendez, fresh from re-signing to a blockbuster deal with the UFC, is 22-3. Pettis stands at 17-2.
