Paulo Thiago vs. Gasan Umalatov Booked For May 31 Event In Brazil

An interesting welterweight bout has been added to the UFC’s May 31 event in Brazil.

According to UFC officials, Paulo Thiago and Gasan Umalatov have agreed to face off on the ‘Sonnen vs. Silva’ fight card in Sao Paulo.

Thiago last saw action in a losing effort to Brandon Thatch at UFC Fight Night 32. The defeat marked his third in his last four fights and puts the Brazilian in a must-win situation.

Umalatov is coming off his second defeat in 10 straight fights. He made his UFC debut at UFC 169 where he suffered a decision los to Neil Magny.

Outside of the evening headliner between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, no other bouts have been announced for the card.
