Former UFC welterweight contender, Paul Daley, was cut from the UFC following a post-fight incident where he threw a blatant punch at opponent Josh Koscheck. Now, having been released from Bellator FC for legal reasons, Daley seems to be making his case for a return to the Octagon.

Following his cut from the Bellator FC promotion, Paul Daley took to social media to respond to Dana White’s skepticism about allowing the British fighter another chance in the UFC.
One day after Bellator made its decision to cut Daley, the fighter known as ‘Semtex’ wrote on Facebook, “Given the opportunity Dana, I would be right back in there, please just send me that contract.”
Dana White, however, had met news of Daley’s free-agency with mild apathy.
“I thought he hated this place,” said White when asked about his return. “I don’t know, man. I don’t think so.
“I heard he couldn’t get a visa. And they’re real strict here now on visas. I thought he hated the UFC and said he’d never want to come back here and never wanted to fight here again. What changed?”
The visa issue, as brought up by White, may refer to the reason Daley was cut from Bellator. The promotion cut the fighter when it learned that Daley had falsified records when he said he was cleared of an assault charge in his native England. It recently came to light that he was convicted.
Another issue that stands in the way of Daley’s return to the UFC is, of course, his original departure from the organization. At UFC 113, a heavily-anticipated top-contender fight between Josh Koscheck and Daley became a one-sided wrestling match with Koscheck cruising to a unanimous decision. Frustrated with his inability to land any punches, Daley yelled at Koscheck and threw a punch at his opponent long after the bell sounded and the referee stepped in to end the fight. The action landed Daley a 30-day suspension and the loss of a job.
Following that fight, White had said, “I know there’s a lot of people that are fans… Dude, that was one of the – I don’t even know how to put a word on what that kid did.”
Whether Dana White and the UFC have warmed at all to Daley, who is riding a 4-fight TKO win streak, remains to be seen.Tags: Bellator, bellator FC, Dana White, Josh Koscheck, mma, MMA NEWS, PAUL DALEY, ufc, ufc news
