Rich Patishnock improved his record to 5-1 after Igor Gracie could not continue after the first round of their welterweight fight at World Series of Fighting 2.
Officially, the bout was ruled a TKO by doctor stoppage. Gracie (5-4) appeared to have a right shoulder injury.
Gracie took Patishnock’s back early in the first round and tried to lock up a rear naked choke. His arm was too high to secure the choke, and Patishnock resorted to slamming the Brazilian in an attempt to escape.
The win got Patishnock back on the winning track. He lost his last fight, against Tenyeh Dixon on April 21, 2012, snapping a four-win fight streak.
