Sometimes a loss may seem at the moment the worst feeling in the world. But if you think about that amount of extreme excruciating emotional suffering at that very moment compared to all the amount of time you have to pick yourself up after a loss, in many ways a loss can turn out to be a personal win.

Paige VanZant stepped up against top tier opposition with “Thug” Rose Namajunas. What we witnessed was the heart and will of a fighter with determination and guts. VanZant has the mental toughness of a champ and it showed on Fight Night 80.

What is more impressive is VanZant owning up to the loss and giving her honest assessment on her performance that night. Next step now for VanZant is to regroup, not over analyse the loss, she knows where she got beat. You can train footwork, movement, improve reaction time, increase and technique etc.  But what you cant train is heart.
