ONE FC 5 Gains Sylvia vs. Arlovski 4 | MMA NEWS

Tim Sylvia has been very vocal about fighting again for Zuffa. When his bout with Strikforce hevyweight standout Daniel Cormier was taken away at the last minute and given to Frank Mir, he openly admitted he was crushed. Now it looks like he will have a chance to prove he belongs in the big leagues again.

ONE FC has announced a fourth fight between Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia. The two were once the top of the food chain in the UFC’s Heavyweight division, but their luster has diminished greatly due to losses by way of spectacular knockouts, and less than stellar performances. Sylvia went 2-1 against Arlovski in the UFC and now hopes to put the final stamp on their rivalry. They have a chance to redeem themselves on a big stage and potentially catch the eyes of Zuffa brass.

Arlovski initially was slated to fight Soa Palelei at ONE FC 5, but the Australian told the fight was scrapped when he refused to sign a five-fight deal with the promotion.

The event takes place Aug. 31 at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines, and it’s available as an online pay-per-view in North America.
