During his UFC 155 pre-fight press conference media scrum, UFC President Dana White reflected on the end of Strikeforce, which holds its final event in a couple of weeks. White took MMA media sites to task for reporting that UFC parent company Zuffa purchased Strikeforce to “bury it”. White explained “Any of you guys who were around me during that time, that was absolutely not the plan. I was pumped up about it and looking forward to get into it, but, it’s over, man. I’m just happy it’s over.”
White went on to confirm that not all Strikeforce fighters will be brought over to the UFC and empathized with the hardships they have recently faced. Said White, “The way that this thing went down, and what’s happened with these guys, these guys have been very patient, and I’m sorry for them, and I’m happy that they’re coming over to the UFC now.”
