No Opponent Named At Recent Fedor Press Conference

By Chris Taylor - October 8, 2015

Former PRIDE boss Nobuyui Sakakibara introduced his brand new MMA promotion during a press conference in Tokyo on Thursday.

The new promotion will be called Rizin Fighting Federation and the two-night event in December will be called the “Rizin Fighting World Grand Prix 2015”.

Nobuyui Sakakibara also announced that the fights will be held at Saitama Super Arena, the former home of PRIDE, on both December 29 and December 31, with a fan fest set for December 30.

The event will air on tape delay in the United States on Spike TV.

Unfortunately for fight fans, there was no announcement made regarding the opponent for Fedor Emelianenko in the main event on New Year’s Eve.

MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani reported earlier this week that “The Last Emperor” is likely to face kickboxer Jaideep Singh (1-0 MMA) at the event, but nothing has been made official.
