Yves Edwards, he of the 64 professional fights, and Piotr Hallmann have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 173.
Officials announced the lightweight matchup on Monday for a card that is rapidly taking shape.
Edwards (42-20-1, 1 NC) is coming off a knockout loss to Yancy Medeiros but the fight was later ruled a No Contest after Medeiros tested positive to a banned substance. After a winless 2013, the 37-year-old Edwards is in need of a victory.
Hallmann (14-2) made his UFC debut in September 2013 when he submitted Francisco Trinaldo. He is coming off an October loss in by unanimous decision to Al Iaquinta.
UFC 173 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 24. Middleweight champion Chris Weidman puts his title on the line against former light heavyweight titleholder Lyoto Machida in the main event.Tags: MMA NEWS, Piotr Hallmann, UFC 173, ufc news, Yves Edwards
