Nevada Authorities Deny $1 Million Investigation Rumors

By BJPENN.COM News - July 12, 2013

The rumors of a $1 million bet being placed on Weidman prior to his UFC 162 upset victory over Anderson Silva are apparently false.

This is according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board chief of enforcement Jerry Markling, who has not only gone on record to MMAFighting.com about not investigating such a wager, but he has also confirmed no bet of that dollar amount was even accepted by a sports book in their jurisdiction.

Here’s his statement:

“While I cannot give you specific information about ongoing investigations, I can tell you that the Gaming Control Board is not investigating any dispute involving UFC 162 and a wager of that amount,” he said. “In addition, we do not have any information of any book having accepted a wager of that size on that event.”
