Edgar swanson staredown

Earlier this month Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson squared off in Austin Texas in a main event bout that had title implications.

After battering Swanson for nearly 5 rounds, Edgar locked in a rear naked choke with just 4 seconds left.

MMAFighting has received the ratings report from the UFC from the event, and the numbers are extremely impressive.

The main card, which aired on Fox Sports 1, drew in an average of 903,000 viewers. In comparison, UFC Fight Night 56: Rua vs. Saint Preux drew in an average of 699,000 viewers, marking an 11% spike in viewership between the two events.

In addition, the preliminary card for the event, did 777,000 average viewers, well above the average for Fox Sports 1 preliminary cards, which is 446,000.

The card also faced stiff competition given that Pacquiao vs. Algieri was going on the very same night.
