Over the last few days, and over the next few more, UFC star Conor McGregor, and his upcoming opponent Jose Aldo, have been touring the globe to promote July’s UFC 189 event.

During the constant media frenzy, McGregor touched on an old topic, from Dec. 2014, of when Norman Parke bailed on his Mexico City fight against Diego Sanchez. Conor, who has a longtime feud with Sanchez, threw his name in the hat as a last-minute replacement, but fell short in securing Dana White’s approval.

He told the Press in Los Angeles,

“I had Lorenzo on board,” said Conor. “Lorenzo was cool with it. But Dana didn’t want it.”

McGregor is now on to bigger and better things, on July 11 he fights Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title.
