The UFC on FOX 5 card in December is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest cards of the year, headlining this card is Nate Diaz and Benson Henderson for the UFC lightweight championship. Nate Diaz has put in a lot of time training and fighting and he really earned his shot at the title the way you should, through hard work.
The young warrior from Stockton, California has fought in the WEC, Strikeforce and then made his way into the big show by winning the fifth season of the UFC reality show “The Ultimate Fighter.” He’s fought everybody the UFC has asked him to and since dropping from welterweight to lightweight Nate has won three fights in a row, all impressive, all finishes.
Nate Diaz recently appeared on Spike TV’s “MMA Uncensored Live,” with his brother, Nick, where he talked about his upcoming bout with Benson Henderson.
“Ben Henderson is a good opponent. He’s had some good fights. I’m pretty pumped up about fighting for a title. It’s been a long time. I’ve been fighting everybody at welterweight and lightweight for some time now. All my training partners and my brother have had my back. Training’s been going good. I just got out of boxing camp, so training’s never really stopped.”
When talking about his strategy for the fight he had this to say:
“I just gotta go in there and be a better fighter. I’ve been watching a lot of tape and watching what he does. I just gotta go in there and do the thing — do it better than him.”
