NAC: Liklihood Of Romero-Kennedy Being Overturned Is “Very Slim”

Yesterday on the main card of UFC 178, Tim Kennedy was defeated by Yoel Romero after a bizarre series of events.

With 10 seconds left in the second, Romero was rocked, but fell into the cage, preventing him from going down. He survived the final seconds of the round, but his corner bought him some extra time on the stool prior to the 3rd round, 28 seconds to be exact.

When the 3rd round started Romero came out and TKO’d Kennedy.

During the post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White said that the NSAC will investigate the situation.

NAC Executive Director Bob Bennett spoke to MMAFighting about the investigation:

“They’re very seldom overruled. The likelihood of an appeal being overturned is very slim. I’m not going to say it’s not going to happen, but like I initially said, it would be deferred to our legal department.”
