Welterweight’s Jason Soares and Lavelle Brown have agreed to square off next week for the “Just Scrap” welterweight title currently held by Soares.
“I promised everyone we would kick off 2012 with a bang and what better way than to put on our third title fight of the evening between Jason and Lavelle,” said Just Scrap president JD Penn.
“Just Scrap XV” is set to take place in Hilo, Hawaii from the Hilo Civic Auditorium On January 14.
The always tough Jason Soares will look to defend his title next week and keep his unbeaten streak alive in the process. With a record of 4-0, the Penn Training and Fitness fighter representing Boss MMA holds one-submission, on TKO via ref. stoppage, one knock out and one decision to his credit and will look to add another stat to his already impressive run of dominance in the coming week. Facing the champ is a man Just Scrap fans should already be familiar with. Lavelle Brown last saw action in a unanimous decision victory under the “Just Scrap” banner on October 15th and took his record to 5-0 in the process. Boasting a “Street Fighter” style, the undefeated Mixed Martial Artist has won all of his five fights by unanimous decision. Another Penn Training and Fitness fighter, he hails from Waikoloa Hawaii fighting out of Cornerstone.
